SWCPQ-Features-Aggregated-Dataset

The data set contains the scores of 2,000 characters on 500 "bipolar adjective pairs" (BAP). These scores have been aggregated from the survey responses of the SWCPQ-Features-Survey-Dataset.

This dataset was developed as a part of the Statistical "Which Character" Personality Quiz (SWCPQ, https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/characters/), an interactive web page with the premise that users could provide a self description and be matched to characters with similar descriptions. You should take the quiz and read the on-line documentation to get the best idea of how this worked and how to think about this data.

Users took the test with the motivation to obtain their best matching fictional character. At the end of the test, but before the user viewed their results, they were asked if they would be willing to take a short survey to help make the quiz better. People who said yes were then asked to select from a list of fictional universes ones they knew. One of the universes they selected (if any) was then assigned to them and they were given characters from that universe to rate. The image below shows how the page where they made the ratings looked.

The rating was made by moving the slider scale to any value 1 - 100. Where 1 = slider at furthest left position to 100 = slider at furthest right position (50 = centered starting position).

All of these ratings can be combined to provide an average description of each character on each of the 500 items. This dataset has the following 3 data files:

• characters-aggregated-scores.csv - the "scores" of the characters
• characters-aggregated-scores-n.csv - the number of ratings each scores is based on
• characters-aggregated-scores-std.csv - the standard deviation of the ratings
